Zeus Data Store
ZDS for Symantec is a web-application which ensures that all data centers are running at optimum capacity and delivering the expected performance with the minimum downtime. It monitors and manages multiple data-centers all round the globe.
VISION
Vision is to create a Storage Platform for unstructured data. Charge customers based upon various parameters of data usage. Efficiently manage data storage and easily enforce compliance and governance regulations.
APPROACH
With Executives exploring external design agencies to take up the task, we pitched in to understand the problem/expectations. With time of essence we analyzed/synthesized the requirements. In a matter of week I roll-out possible design outcomes. Guess what WE WON!
SOLUTION
Detailed design process got followed to reach to final deliverables. It includes Persona/s, Scenario/s, White-boarding, task analysis, Information Architecture, Low Fi/Hi Fi Wireframes and Visual Designs. Collaboration with customers were done via Basecamp for timely feedback.
The Process
Since the project started from scratch I was lucky to follow whole of design process. Customers were explained detail design process. Various milestones along with deliverables were planned. Collaboration is done via Basecamp. One of the best depiction of process followed is shown below.
The Plan
At the start a detailed project plan got created with timeline and deliverables. Gantt chart is used for timeframes and sign-off deliverables.

Going through documents/presentations to understand ecosystem, hardware specifications and capabilities.
Persona and Scenario

Wireframes and Iterations
Here are few HiFi wireframes for reference. Key challenges in this project were to select right visualization tools for performance and monitoring. Considering data storage would be increasing exponentially in coming days, it becomes super critical to incorporate aggregated views at multiple levels of architecture.
